A handmade custom pet portrait can cost far more than an automatic digital filter because the price covers an individual physical artwork, human planning and production, agreed review stages and the practical work needed to deliver it safely. At MR KCAL CAT ART, commissions currently begin at US$500. The final price depends on the format, dimensions, number of pets, composition, material, detail and delivery needs.
Solve the real problem first
Need a Real Quote Instead of a Generic Price Range?
Choose the situation closest to yours. A first question is free, and no payment or original high-resolution photo upload is required before the studio explains the next useful step.
I only know my maximum budget.
Share it privately with the number of pets and desired physical result. The studio can say whether a suitable scope exists without requiring payment.
I cannot compare two quotes.
Check artist, medium, dimensions, background, reviews, shipping and rights. Send the missing scope questions rather than comparing headline totals alone.
Shipping might change the decision.
Include the destination country and postal region. Final shipping depends on packed dimensions, weight, insurance and carrier availability.
What to include in the first message
- Number of pets and preferred format
- Approximate dimensions or display space
- Budget range and currency

Custom Pet Portrait Starting Prices
| Commission direction | Starting price | Best suited to | Photo needs | Typical planning |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| One Moment Portrait | US$500 | One defining expression, pose or favorite photograph | A clear main image plus supporting color or marking references | About 6–10 weeks for many projects |
| Three Moments Portrait | US$795 | Several life stages, separate memories or a considered multi-photo composition | Compatible references with enough information to plan one composition | About 6–10 weeks for many projects |
| Sculpted Keepsake | US$1,095 | A relief or dimensional work centered on profile, texture and physical form | Front, side, three-quarter and full-body views when available | About 8–12 weeks for many relief projects |
| Legacy Collection | US$1,795 | A fuller life story or memorial developed across complementary physical works | A broader photo archive, display context and project priorities | Proposal-specific |
“From” means the least complex suitable project within that direction. It does not mean every size, material, composition or number of pets can be made at that price. International shipping is separate.
What Changes the Cost of a Custom Pet Portrait?
Format and material
A two-dimensional portrait, dimensional relief and freestanding sculpture require different planning, making, finishing and packing. The proposal identifies the actual physical format and material.
Dimensions and display
A larger work can require more studio time, material, structural planning, framing, mounting or a display base. Tell us where the work will live.
Number of pets
Each additional subject adds likeness, scale and composition decisions. Multiple pets are quoted as one planned artwork, not as a hidden template surcharge.
Composition and background
Combining separate photos, life stages, a detailed setting, meaningful object, name or dates can change the concept and production scope.
Reference-photo limits
An incomplete archive may require more review and a more interpretive direction. We explain the honest visual limits before payment rather than charging to invent missing facts.
Structural complexity
For reliefs and sculptures, pose, balance, fragile features, scale and material behavior affect the making and delivery plan.
Review requirements
The proposal states which sketch or progress stages are included. A major change after approval can require a new price and schedule.
Delivery needs
Packed size, weight, fragility, destination, insurance and customs requirements are assessed separately from the artwork price.
Why a Portrait and a Pet Sculpture Have Different Prices
A portrait concentrates likeness into a chosen view and composition. A relief adds depth and tactile form. A freestanding sculpture must remain convincing from several angles and may require structural decisions that do not exist in a flat work.
If you are unsure, describe the result and display space rather than guessing the medium. We can recommend the most realistic direction for the photographs and budget.
What Does the Written Price Include?
The exact inclusions belong in the individual proposal. A useful proposal identifies:
- The physical format, dimensions, material and number of pets
- The composition direction and reference-photo plan
- The actual artist and Cherry’s creative-direction role
- Any background, object, name, dates, framing, mounting or display base
- The sketch or progress reviews included in the scope
- The revision boundary and what would count as a major change
- The artwork price, 50% deposit and final-payment timing
- The estimated production schedule and preliminary delivery approach
Nothing on this page adds an item automatically to a cart. The written proposal—not a generic price table—is the reference for the accepted project.
Are Shipping, Insurance, Customs and Framing Included?
International shipping is quoted separately because an actual packed work must be considered. Destination, dimensions, weight, fragility, carrier availability and available insurance all matter. Import duties, taxes or brokerage are normally the recipient’s responsibility unless the proposal says otherwise.
Framing, mounting or a display base is included only when the proposal states it. We do not hide an assumed frame or shipping price inside an artwork starting price. Review the shipping and damage policy for the packing record and damage-reporting process.
How the Deposit and Final Payment Work
- The enquiry is free.Send the practical details and memory first. No payment or original photo upload is required on the public form.
- You review the proposal.Scope, actual artist, price, reviews, timing and delivery approach are written down.
- A 50% deposit begins the project. The deposit is requested through PayPal only after you accept the proposal.
- The remaining balance follows final approval.Actual shipping is invoiced before careful packing and dispatch.
Cancellation and refund terms are project-specific because the work is custom. They are stated in the proposal and must comply with applicable consumer law. See the commission policy.
How to Plan Your Pet Portrait Budget
| If your priority is… | Start by discussing… | Information that improves the quote |
|---|---|---|
| One recognizable expression | A One Moment Portrait from US$500 | Main photo, desired dimensions, destination and deadline |
| Several ages or separate memories | A Three Moments Portrait from US$795 | Which moments matter, how the photos relate and the display space |
| Physical texture and depth | A Sculpted Keepsake from US$1,095 | Multiple angles, preferred scale, wall or shelf display and destination |
| A fuller memorial or life record | A Legacy Collection from US$1,795 | Archive size, priorities, complementary formats, schedule and budget ceiling |
A budget does not reduce the emotional importance of the project. It helps us avoid proposing a direction you cannot use. “Not sure yet” is also a valid answer; the starting prices show whether the current studio offer is likely to fit.
Common Custom Pet Portrait Pricing Questions
Can I receive an exact price before sending photos?
We can explain starting prices, but an exact proposal depends on the format, dimensions, number of pets, composition, references, destination and deadline. The first website enquiry does not require original files; detailed photo review follows separately if the request fits.
Does a second pet increase the price?
Usually, because another subject adds likeness, relative scale, composition and detail. The proposal states the number of pets and total project price rather than relying on an unexplained per-pet add-on.
Is a memorial portrait more expensive?
Not simply because it is a memorial. Price follows the actual format and complexity. A limited archive may affect what can be created, but we discuss visual limits before payment.
Are revisions included?
The proposal identifies the review stages and revision boundary. Unless it says otherwise, one consolidated round of reasonable sketch-stage changes is included. Major changes to subject, pose, medium, dimensions or composition can require a revised quote.
Why is this more expensive than an AI pet portrait?
The current offer is a one-of-one physical artwork planned and made by people, not an instant filter, template or digital download. The price reflects individual scope, human work, physical production and delivery planning.
What Should I Send for a Useful Quote?
Tell us the pet, number of subjects, likely format, approximate budget, destination and desired date. Add the expression, pose, routine or relationship the work should preserve. If you are uncertain about the images, use the complete pet portrait photo guide; if the archive is old or incomplete, read the focused memorial portrait from old photos guide.
