Born around March 1, 2025
Approximately 1 year and 6 months old. The date is approximate, but the record of his life is real.
Around two weeks old
Dan Huang entered our lives as a tiny orange kitten. Mr Kcal and Cherry began raising him together and recording the ordinary details that would soon feel essential: his size, changing markings, sleepy expressions and first small explorations.
An everyday visual archive
Photographs and videos accumulated across TikTok and YouTube. They were not originally made as reference material for a commission. Together, however, they preserved the angles, expressions, routines and changes that no single favorite photograph could hold.
The expressions that are unmistakably him
Over time, a vocabulary emerged: the look before an ambush, impossible sleeping positions and the tiny habits that made him Dan Huang. Those repeated details—not an invented character—became the emotional and visual reference for the work.
From an archive to a physical life story
Looking back made us realize that likeness alone was not enough. Cherry began planning portrait, relief and three-dimensional directions around his first, favorite and now moments. The aim is to show what each format can remember differently as genuine finished work becomes available.
Why his story matters to other families
Dan Huang is our first muse and first full collection. His archive gave the studio a practical framework for asking better questions about another pet: Which expression do you know by heart? Which photograph began everything? Which moment should remain physically present?
